Privacy policy

This policy explains how Amma's Recipe (www.ammasrecipe.com), a proprietorship of Meera Jaiswal, collects and uses your personal information when you visit the website, place an order or join the community. We follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

• Order details: your name, phone number, email, delivery address and what you ordered.
• Account details: your email address when you sign in with a code. We don't use passwords.
• Community and reviews: your first name, city, pledge, posts, comments, photos and reviews you choose to share. These are shown publicly on the website.
• Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
• Payments: handled by Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details go straight to Razorpay. We never see or store them; we only receive the payment status and reference.

How we use it

• To prepare, pack, ship and track your order, and to send order and delivery updates by email or WhatsApp.
• To answer your questions, handle cancellations, refunds and complaints.
• To ask for a review after delivery, and to send the newsletter if you subscribed.
• To prevent fraud and misuse, and to meet our tax and legal obligations.

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

Only with the service providers we need to run the shop, and only what they need:

• Razorpay, to process payments.
• Courier and delivery partners, to deliver your order (name, phone and address).
• Supabase and Vercel, which host our website and database.
• Resend, which sends our emails.

We may also share information when the law requires it, for example with tax or government authorities.

Cookies and local storage

We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's storage to remember your cart. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep order and invoice records for as long as tax laws require (usually 8 years). Account, newsletter and community data is kept until you ask us to delete it or close your account.

Your choices and rights

• Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it.
• Ask us to delete your account, posts and reviews. Order records we must keep by law will stay.
• Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email.

Security

Our website runs only over HTTPS, access to customer data is limited to the owner, and payments are processed by Razorpay's PCI-DSS compliant systems.

Children

The website is meant for adults. Children should use it with a parent or guardian.
